About Me

I am a freelance writer, reporter and radio journalist currently based in Nairobi, Kenya. Originally from California, I have been working in journalism since 2006, and since then I have reported from Africa, Asia and Europe. My work has appeared in a number of international publications, including the Economist, the Guardian (UK), the Christian Science Monitor, the European Voice, Alternatives Internationales and Perspective. I also report from Kenya for Voice of America, and write monthly articles about technology in Africa for ZDNet. As a travel writer, I have contributed to a number of books for Rough Guides, including guides to Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe.

I am currently available for commissions in and around East Africa, and for travel further afield.
